Bugaboos climbing is characterized by pristine granite cracks, and sometimes you must climb them with a full alpine pack. Photo by Brent Butler on the legendary Becky Chouinard during a beautiful dry spell in July '12.

Example Itinerary:

  1. Travel to Golden or Invermere British Columbia. I can help advise you on the different transportation options to get to these small mountain towns.

  1. Meet and check everyone’s gear. Polish off the packing and approach the Conrad Kain Hut via a pleasant 3-4 hour hike though beautiful alpine scenery. Make ourselves home in the hut, cover any instructional material we need to prep ourselves for the days to come.

  2. Climb the Ears Between (5.7) route on Crescent Tower as a nice introduction to the area

  3. Go big and climb the NE ridge of Bugaboo Spire (5.8) and descend via the Kain Route

  4. Cragging or scrambling as an "active" rest day

  5. Go big once again and hit up one of the many great routes on Snowpatch Spire such as the Snowpatch route (5.8) or Sunshine Cracks (5.11a)

  6. An mountaineering-esqe day cruising up the Vowell Glacier to reach the West Ridge of Pidgeon Spire (5.4) before we hike out and drive back to town.
